Local police say a routine walk-through at Princeton’s Walmart over the weekend led to the arrest of a Marion man on burglary and firearm charges.

According to Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison, 39-year-old William Stoltenburg was arrested at Walmart Saturday morning after employees identified him as previously being trespassed from the store. When informed of his arrest for trespassing, police said Stoltenburg resisted but was eventually handcuffed. Officers said that Stoltenburg, a convicted felon, had a loaded pistol on him and stolen merchandise when he was taken into custody.

Stoltenburg was charged with first-degree burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Police said a records check also indicated that Stoltenburg had active warrants in the counties of Crittenden, Muhlenberg and Union for misdemeanor and traffic offenses. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
