Princeton Police Chief Announces Annual Officer David Scott Memorial Toy Drive

Princeton Police Chief Chris King has announced the kick-off for the annual Officer David Scott Memorial Toy Drive, urging community members to contribute by December 16 to bring joy to local children this holiday season.

During Monday night’s meeting, Chief King informed City Council members about the toy drive, emphasizing that the deadline for submitting applications and donations at the police department is December 16.

click to download audioPer the guidelines for the David Scott Memorial Toy Drive, all contributions must be toys or toy-oriented items. They should be stand-alone toys, not accessories, and should fall within the $10-$20 price range. For items below this range, Chief King requests monetary donations or consulting Officer Payne.

Chief King requests that the following items not be purchased:

– Stuffed animals

– Realistic-looking guns (nerf guns are okay)

– Arts/crafts items

– Makeup

– Candy

– Perfume/cologne

– Hairbrushes, combs, bands, accessories, etc.

– Clothing items

– Items for children younger than 2 years or children 11 and older

Chief King announced that the toys will be available for pickup at the Princeton Tourist and Welcome Center, located at 206 East Market Street, on Saturday, December 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
