The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a contractor plans a work zone lane restriction on U.S. 62 near the 1-mile marker in Lyon County starting on Tuesday.
State transportation officials said that the lane restriction on US 62 is located between Chandler Road and Hopewell Road, just below Barkley Dam near the Livingston-Lyon County line.
Officials said that crews will be repairing a slide along the road embankment, with a temporary traffic signal installed to manage alternating traffic flow through the work zone. They noted that the signal will be in place 24 hours a day until the project is finished.
Officials stated that weather permitting, the project is anticipated to be completed by Thursday, after which all traffic control devices will be removed.
Drivers are advised to pay attention to signage and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
