William Perry, 98, of Princeton

William Clinton Perry, age 98, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 15, 2024, at Caldwell Medical Center. Born on May 20, 1926, to the late William Walter and Ruby Yandell Perry of the Needmore community in Caldwell County. Clinton was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, his parents, and his sister, Eliza Perry Kennaday.

Clinton was survived by two sons, Bill (Lucy) Perry of Princeton, KY, and Andy Perry of Louisville, KY. Two granddaughters, Sharon (Mat) Murphy and Elizabeth Perry, and one great-grandchild, Sam Murphy, all of Louisville, KY.

After graduating from Butler High School in 1944, and receiving his draft notification two days later, Clinton entered the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater of World War II serving under both General Dwight D. Eisenhower and General George S. Patton. After serving his country, he returned and was united in marriage with Mildred Ivaline Ladd on April 6, 1947.

Born and raised on the family farm, he continued to farm after he retired from S.K.W. Alloys in Calvert City, KY.

Clinton served for many years on various boards and committees in the community and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served on the Caldwell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors for over 65 years and was a member of Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church (grew up in Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church), Clinton Lodge #82 F. & A.M. and Princeton Chapter #315 O.E.S.

Clinton was one of two surviving members of the Butler High School Class of 1944 and one of two surviving World War II veterans of Caldwell County.

Clinton lived a full life marked by his dedication to family, faith, and community. He was a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Above all, Clinton was a good Christian man who never hesitated to engage in conversation with anyone he met. His loving and friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Masonic services starting at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 20, 202,4 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Ladd officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Caldwell County with Military Honors.

The family asks instead of flowers, donations be made in his memory to Liberty Cemetery, 408 South Jefferson Street, Princeton, KY 42445, or to the Masonic Homes of Kentucky, 330 Masonic Home Drive, Masonic Home, KY 40041.
