The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flood Watch for western Kentucky from 6:00 PM Saturday to 9:00 AM Sunday.
Lead Meteorologist Derrick Snyder said the watch was issued after the area had seen just under an inch of precipitation since Christmas Day.
Snyder added the chances for overnight severe thunderstorms should remain south of the area, but a strong storm cannot be ruled out in the Pennyrile region.
