Funeral Services for 87-year-old Sonny Finley of Cadiz will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurricane Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Johnson and Rev. Lester Watson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hurricane Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Hurricane Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Gladys Finley, Cadiz;
Three sons – Rick Finley, Yucca, AZ; Greg Finley (Sherry), Elkton, KY; Mitch Finley (Conny), Princeton, KY;
Two brothers — Lonnie Finley (Sherry), Gainesville, GA; and Pete Finley, Milwaukee, WI;
10 grandchildren
Tony and John being raised as our children;
Crystal, Cora, D.J.,
Matt, Elizabeth,
Kyle, Shaundra and Allie;
Several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Sonny Finley was born in Cadiz, on May 25, 1937, to John Lewis Finley and Mildred Hendricks Finley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Joe Finley; three brothers, Mason, Randall, and Jr. and one in infancy, Oma Finley; two sisters, Nell Lawrence and Mabel McNeil.
He passed away Monday morning, December 30, 2024, at his home.
Sonny was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired in 2003 as an Electrician from Waldron Electric in Hopkinsville, KY. He was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, an avid fisherman who loved spending time with his family and eating.
