Linda Ruth Mitchell, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, at the age of 77 in her lifelong home of Caldwell County, KY. Born on August 27, 1947, Linda’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the simple joys of family and faith.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Eddie Mitchell, and their loving children, Leslie (Cookie) Cook of Princeton and Stephen (Barbie) Mitchell of Eddyville. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Lauren and Seth Cook both of Princeton, who brought immense joy to her life. Linda’s spirit is also carried on by her sister, Corlis Walker of Lyon County, and brother, Emil Ladd, Jr. of Trigg County, along with several adoring nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Ladd, Sr. and Cora Lee McNeeley Ladd; brother, Ronnie Ladd.
A lifelong member of White Sulphur Baptist Church, Linda’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She shared her love for the Lord by teaching Sunday School, touching the lives of many through her gentle guidance. Linda’s passion for canning vegetables was only matched by her love for flowers. Her greatest passion and love was for her family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation. Morgan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
