The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in an animal cruelty case.
According to Sheriff Bobby Davidson, the Animal Control Division of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the abandonment of multiple dogs at a residence in Smithland. During the investigation, he said authorities found the animals confined in a camper without adequate food, water, or ventilation. He reported that two dogs were discovered dead, and a third passed away within 24 hours despite receiving care.
As a result of the investigation, Sheriff Davidson said a warrant had been issued for 44-year-old Regina Tackwell on twelve counts of second-degree cruelty to animals.
Anyone with information that could lead to Tackwell’s arrest is urged to contact the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 928-2122 or reach out to their local law enforcement agency.
