Several local residents are facing meth-related charges following a series of arrests in Lyon County last week.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported 47-year-old Steven Warfield of Kuttawa was taken into custody on a Marshall Circuit Court indictment warrant during a traffic stop in the Suwanee Area last Monday night. He said the indictment charges Warfield with trafficking meth 2nd or greater offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription not in a proper container. He was lodged in the Mashall County Detention Center.
On Wednesday, Sheriff White said 45-year-old Heather Thornton of Marion was arrested on two outstanding warrants at a residence off Joe Peek Road. She was charged with a Lyon District Court complaint warrant charging her with possession of meth. She was also served with a Crittenden District Court bench warrant for failure to appear pertaining to driving on a DUI-suspended license.
When Thornton was taken into custody, according to Sheriff White, she was also found in possession of other illegal narcotics. She was additionally charged with possession of meth, two counts of possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
Sheriff White reported that 35-year-old Joshua Harper of Eddyville was arrested after an investigation into a suspicious person complaint on KY 730 East near the intersection with KY 293, across from Saratoga Methodist Church. He said when Harper was located he was under the influence of meth. He was charged with possession of meth, public intoxication – controlled substance, and trespassing on property he was not allowed to be on. He was booked into the Crittenden County Jail.
On Friday, the sheriff reported that 47-year-old Paula Hunter of Eddyville was arrested on a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff White reported this was Hunter’s sixth felony case in four years. She is lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
On Saturday, 48-year-old Michael Mason of Princeton was served a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant on charges of possession of meth. He was booked into the Crittenden County Jail.
