Local 4-H Agent Announces Upcoming Area Teen Council Meeting, Photography Workshop

Caldwell County 4-H Agent Rhonda Jewell has unveiled a couple of upcoming events, including a Teen Council meeting and ice skating outing, as well as a photography workshop designed to engage and educate local youth.

According to Jewell, the W3 and W4 Teen Council, a group of about 13 or 14 teens, will meet on Monday. She said this council meets monthly to work on various projects and opportunities. Additionally, she noted that the W3 and W4 Area Teen Council meets approximately every other month, combining an educational component during the school day with a fun activity.

click to download audioThe Area Teen Council Meeting in Owensboro will commence at 10:00 on Monday morning, February 17, at the Henderson County Extension Office in Owensboro, with ice skating scheduled from 1:00 to 3:30 that afternoon at the Edge Ice Center. The cost is $10 and the deadline to register is January 31.

In addition, Jewell mentioned that they are organizing a photography workshop focused on the fundamentals of photography and how 4-H participants can prepare for the Kentucky State Fair.

click to download audioShe emphasized the importance of teaching kids what to look for in purposeful photography. Jewell noted that this workshop will provide an opportunity for kids to explore photography, regardless of whether they choose to enter the Kentucky State Fair.
