A Princeton man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck near Providence in Hopkins County Sunday morning.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to a vehicle found off the road in a drainage ditch on HWY 814/Cutoff Road near the intersection of HWY 109/Rabbit Ridge Road in Providence shortly before 8:30 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s office investigation, 26-year-old Jacob Cummings was driving south on HWY 814 when his vehicle veered off the road, returned to the highway, and then overturned into a drainage ditch, where it came to a stop. Deputies reported that emergency services and the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office confirmed Cummings was deceased.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Providence Police Department, the Providence Fire Department, Providence Ambulance Services, the Nebo Volunteer Fire Department, and Med Center Ambulance Services assisted the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
