In new business, magistrates passed a resolution to declare chain link fence wiring, aluminum, and metal removed during the Caldwell County Animal Shelter’s renovation project as surplus. Students from the Caldwell Regional Career Center have designed the kennels that will soon be installed. The project is 100% funded by a $30,000 donation from Anne Banister from Safe Haven.

District 4 Magistrate Jeff Simms said he’s grateful for the safety improvements at the shelter and acknowledged everyone involved in the project.
