Following a water main break on Hopkinsville Road Tuesday night, the Caldwell County Water District has issued a Boil Water Advisory affecting some customers.

According to Superintendent Cody Kirby, the advisory is in effect for the following locations:

KY 128
Hopkinsville Road from KY 128 to Old Railroad Bed Road
Scottsburg Road
Sandlick Road
Dawson Road from Stallons Road to Longbreak Road
Lewistown Church Road
Lamb Road
Watson Road
Stallons Road
Customers impacted by the advisory are advised to boil water for 3 minutes before consumption. Kirby mentioned that water samples were sent to the lab on Wednesday morning, and results are expected by Thursday.

Kirby explained that a leak developed at a fitting on the line serving the Hopkinsville Road water tower, located outside the pump station on Hopkinsville Road. He stated that this was an unavoidable issue for the water district, necessitating the shutdown of the water pump, rerouting of water, and closure of several valves to carry out the repair. He noted that this led to low pressure and, in some cases, no water. Kirby mentioned that his team worked throughout the evening and night to complete the repair and ensure proper flushing for water quality.
