As Caldwell County grapples with the aftermath of recent flooding, local officials are bracing for another weather challenge with a snowstorm expected to hit the area beginning Tuesday evening.
According to Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin, a few roads in the county remain impacted by high water.
click to download audioInside the city, Princeton Public Works Director Chris Pool reports the 500 block of South Seminary Street, Downs Street at Akers Avenue, and Faith Avenue continue to experience high water over the roads. He noted the road in front of 108 East Green Street is also reduced to a single lane due to damage.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County Road Superintendent David Waldrum reports that most of the county’s roads have reopened following high water issues, except for the usual low-lying trouble spots, which are likely to remain closed for a few more days as the water recedes.
McCaslin mentioned that the Caldwell County Road Department and Princeton Public Works are also getting ready for the winter storm, ensuring that all their equipment is prepared and operational.
McCaslin indicated that warming centers will be opened only if necessary.
