Despite Thursday’s harsh temperatures, officials reported slight improvements to the roads in both the city of Princeton and Caldwell County.

Caldwell County Road Department Superintendent David Waldrum reported this afternoon that road conditions in the county have slowly improved throughout the day. Although, he added they will take that over nothing. He said roads are still slippery in spots and will refreeze back Thursday night. He added that county road crews will be back out again on Friday doing what they can to get the roads cleared.

Meanwhile, Princeton Public Works Director Chris Pool noted that there was a slight melting of snow on the city’s streets today but warned that the melted areas are expected to refreeze overnight.
