
A Hopkinsville man was arrested on multiple charges after deputies responded to an assault in Caldwell County last week.
Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman reported that deputies were dispatched to 24 Jill Drive shortly before 7:15 Friday night for an assault, and after Ameri-Pro EMS personnel requested assistance from law enforcement at the scene.
Upon arrival, Sheriff Weedman said Deputy Garrick Lamb was informed that 58-year-old Mark Wiles had assaulted 84-year-old Phillip Tyrie, of Princeton. While on the scene, Wiles also reportedly assaulted Deputy Mac Englebright. After Wiles was taken into custody, he was transported to Caldwell Medical Center for evaluation, where Sheriff Weedman said he threatened deputies and a hospital employee.
Wiles was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree disorderly conduct, three counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail
Deputies were assisted by the Princeton Police Department.
