Phil Dearing, 76, of Paducah

Phil W. Dearing, age 76, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 76.

Phil was born on September 27, 1948, to the late Thomas and Vernie Mae Jones Dearing. Phil dedicated 42 years to the coal mining industry. Spending most of his time in the mines in Providence. He was a proud member of the Coal Miners Union. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting and working on old tractors. Most of all, he loved being able to go fishing. Phil was a member of Mt. Piscah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Patricia Metcalf Dearing; sons, Shawn Dearing of Henderson and Johnnie Lee Dearing of Dawson Springs; daughter, Michelle (Anthony) Terrell of Dawson Springs; stepdaughter, Lisa Joyce of Paducah; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Dearing, Phillip Winters, Alysha (Nathan) Tyson. Sheldon Dearing and Austin Dearing; step-grandchildren, Brad (Candice) Martin and Amanda (Dylan) Barletto; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Berry, Tristin Winters, Ryleigh Winters, Luke Winters, Lexus Mankle and Emilee White; step-great-grandchildren, Bo Tyson, Nash Tyson, Joey Martin and Brock Simmons.

In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Dearing.

Visitation for Phil Dearing will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Creekmur Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Morgan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
