
A Dawson Springs man faces a DUI charge following a wreck on KY 139/Cadiz Road in Caldwell County Wednesday, which led to a secondary collision involving downed utility cables.Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman reported 63-year-old Mike Towery was traveling northbound on Cadiz Road when in the area of Hopson curve his pickup truck ran off the road and struck two utility poles. After an investigation, he said it was determined that Towery had been drinking alcoholic beverages prior to the collision. He was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
Sheriff Weedman also reported a second collision occurred when a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Angela Cansler, of Princeton, struck the downed MediaCom cables caused by the initial impact with the utility poles.
There were no injuries reported and Towery was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
AmeriPro EMS and the Princeton Fire Department assisted the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
