Caldwell Special Olympics Team Wins State Championship, Gold Team Excels in Skills Competition

In a triumphant weekend for Caldwell County, the Special Olympics Blue Team clinched the state basketball championship in Louisville, while the Gold Team celebrated victory in the Team Skills Competition.

Roy Gene Rogers shared that the teams departed on Friday afternoon to compete in the 2025 State Basketball Tournament and the Team Skills Competition in Louisville, following the Blue Team’s qualification for the state level. At the championship, the Caldwell County Blue Team advanced by narrowly defeating Shelby County 20-18 in a Saturday morning game, which propelled them into the championship match Sunday against the team from neighboring Trigg County.
