The Caldwell County school board Monday night approved a state-affiliated on-the-job training program designed to help students transition from high school to post-secondary education or the workforce.
The Board unanimously approved an agreement with Jobs for America’s Graduates Kentucky, or JAG KY, for the 2025-2026 school year, following Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach’s explanation that it would provide funding and on-the-job training to high school students.
In response to questions, Roach said that the position would be posted to select a teacher, and the program would serve as an additional elective, with efforts to recruit students.
He said students could take the JAG KY more than one year and the district would receive funding annually.
