Dr. Rev. Jerry Gray, 77, of Princeton

Dr. Rev. Jerry Jerome Gray, a beacon of selfless love and unwavering faith, departed from this world on March 21, 2025, at the age of 77, in his hometown of Princeton, KY. Born on January 8, 1948, Jerry’s life was a testament to his friendly nature and his profound impact on those around him.

Jerry was a cherished husband to Hilda Matchen Gray for 56 years, a guiding father to Michael (Sherry) Gray of Owensboro and Tiffany Gray of Louisville, and a doting grandfather and great-grandfather to Kiersten (Matthew) Faris, Jay’Len (Jakayla) Boyd, Amelia Faris, Eli Faris, and Jay’Len Boyd, Jr. His legacy of love and laughter will live on through his family, including his several brothers and sisters.

His parents, Jesse Richard Gray and Mary Mimms Vaughn, as well as several of his siblings and his special aunt, Nora Mimms, preceded him in death. They have now welcomed him into eternal peace.

Jerry’s life was marked by distinguished service as a Safety Engineer at the United States Enrichment Corp. His dedication to his country was evident through his valiant service in both the Army and the Coast Guard, where he received a Purple Heart. His academic achievements culminated in earning a Bachelors Degree from Murray State University and Doctorate Degree from Newberry Theological Seminar, further highlighting his commitment to excellence. He also studied at The Biblical Institute in Jerusalem. His early education started when he graduated from Caldwell County High School.

An avid outdoorsman, Jerry found joy in fishing, hunting, and mowing his grass. His love for travel and conversation was only matched by his generosity and his delight in spending time with his family. Jerry never met a stranger, and his ability to connect with others was unparalleled. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Dr. Jerry Jerome Gray will be remembered as a faith-filled and friendly soul who lived to give to others. His memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, March 28, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
