Law Enforcement Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Suspect

Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect who fled after a collision in Hopkins County.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 spokesman Trooper Ridge Porter says they received a call from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s office on Wednesday requesting assistance in locating 45-year-old Jonathan Ray Ruby of White Plains after he ran away from a collision in Mortans Gap following a physical altercation when deputies arrived.

Trooper Porter described Ruby as a white male, 6’1″, 260 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. A picture of Ruby can be found in this story on our website. State police said Ruby was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a red shirt, and a black jacket.

According to Trooper Porter, Ruby is considered armed and dangerous. He said Ruby currently has multiple felony warrants including: fleeing or evading police, trafficking in a controlled substance, and parole violations.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky State Police Aircraft Branch, Madisonville Police Department, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle.
