Following a water rescue in Caldwell County on Saturday afternoon, Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin is urging residents to avoid driving around barricades or ignoring road closure signs.
McCaslin said the water rescue occurred on Varmint Trace Road. He emphasized the importance of adhering to barricades and road closure signs, as well as slowing down when driving through water.
click to download audioAccording to McCaslin, they have been checking all of the roads Saturday and flooding is occurring throughout the entire county. Currently, he said the main problem is on Interstate 69, near the 90-mile marker, just west of Dawson Springs at the Caldwell-Hopkins County Line.

So far, McCaslin stated that no evacuations from homes have occurred due to flooding.
