Brenda Jane Shinall, age 81, of Marion, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN
Brenda was born on August 6, 1943, in Princeton, KY to the late George Walter McCarlie II and Elva Jane Murphy McCarlie. Brenda spent many years as a factory worker in various factories until her retirement. In her free time, Brenda enjoyed gardening and feeding the hummingbirds and orioles that would frequent her home. She was a member of Fredonia First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Pepper (Chris) Yancy of Fredonia and Valerie (John) Newcom of Marion; grandchildren, Taylor Yancy, Travis Yancy, Johnny (Tracye) Newcom, and Marilyn (Julian) Smith; several great-grandchildren; brother, G.W. (Cheryl) McCarlie III.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dale Shinall and their beloved dog, LuLu.
Graveside services for Brenda Shinall will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Asher Cemetery in Caldwell County with Bro. Ross Atwell and Bro. David Fambrough officiating.
