Caldwell County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach has announced Jay Burgett as the next principal of Caldwell County Primary School.
According to Lizzie Wynne, Public Relations & Community Engagement Coordinator, Burgett brings 17 years of educational experience to the role, including 15 years as a classroom teacher. She said he currently serves as the assistant principal and athletic director at Paducah Tilghman High School, where he has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to student success.
In a written statement, Jay Burgett expressed his pride and honor at being chosen as the new principal of Caldwell County Primary School. He stated that he looks forward to collaborating with the students, staff, and community to uphold the tradition of excellence that characterizes Caldwell County Schools.
Burgett earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and a master’s degree in school administration, both from Murray State University.
He and his wife, Katie, live in Madisonville with their three children: Reagan, Tripp, and Reisz. The Burgett family enjoys traveling and staying active in the local youth sports community.
Burgett will start his new role as principal on July 1, 2025.
