At Monday night’s Princeton City Council meeting, a project proposal was introduced to transform the former health department building into a community center.
City Clerk Julie Poole said that while a community center would greatly benefit the community, renovating the building would require a financial commitment from the City.

Audio Playerclick to download audioPoole mentioned that she has discussed the availability of grants for renovating the building with Jared Nelson, the project coordinator at the Pennyrile Area Development District, and Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young.
Audio Playerclick to download audioPoole indicated that no immediate action was required at the council meeting. However, she added that if the council believed pursuing the project would benefit the city, she would gather more detailed information on the actual renovation costs.
