Community Gathers for Chamber’s Annual Picnic to Support Scholarships

The annual Picnic in the Park sponsored by the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce was held Friday during lunch on the Princeton City Hall grounds.

Members of the Chamber come together each year to prepare a meal for the community to raise funds to provide a scholarship to local high school graduates. Chamber Board member Darren Ramey has been a part of the picnic for several years and appreciates the community’s support.

Joanie Rowland was at City Hall to pick up some meals and also make an additional donation to the scholarship fund.

Rowland added they like to support all local fundraisers.

Chamber President Julie Poole noted everything was going well preparing the meal and was looking for a good turnout.

Poole added the preorders were slow at first but had increased in the days leading up to the picnic.

Poole reported after the picnic that enough funds were raised to award at least one scholarship this year.
