Children from around the area gathered at the Buddy Rogers Ballpark in Fredonia Saturday morning for the annual community Easter egg hunt.
The infield of the baseball field was filled with excited youngsters as their parents struggled to keep them from storming the outfield to try to pick up the prize eggs. The outfield was divided into 3 different age groups with each section covered with plastic eggs that contained candy, prizes, and some with a special note letting the owner know they had won a major prize.
Angie Prowell was serving as the announcer for the event and was giving instructions as to how they were going to proceed and was explaining when she said to “GO” to get started. The children were overwhelmed with excitement and all they heard was GO the wait was over before Prowell was actually ready but all was good as the children attacked the field. Prowell was extremely pleased with the day.
