Raby Stone, Jr., 82, of Eddyville

Raby Douglas “Doug” Stone, Jr., aged 82, of Eddyville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in Paducah, Kentucky. Born on July 22, 1942, to the late Raby Douglas Stone, Sr., and Virginia Mae Lane Stone, Doug lived a life marked by a dedication to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the outdoors.

Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judi Thomas Stone of Eddyville, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. He was a devoted father to his children, Michael (Tammy) Stone of Kuttawa, Heath (Eva) Stone of Shepherdsville, KY, and Allis (Joe) Frensley of California. His role as a stepfather was cherished by Stephanie Martin of Princeton and Bruce (Lori) McCalister of Princeton. Doug’s legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Whitney (Bradley) Stone-Leyhue, Alec Landreth, Evan Frensley, Hannah (Lucas) Short, Millie (Quentin) Arnold, Samantha Stone, Morgan Stone, Jordan (Karly) Stone, Stephen “Josh” Martin, Ally (David) Sexton, and Zachary Brantley; ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Before retiring, Doug served with honor as a Correctional Employee for the Kentucky Department of Corrections at WKCC and as security for the Lyon County Judicial Center. His commitment to his country was evident as he was a United States Army Veteran. Doug’s love for competition and camaraderie shone through his involvement in the American Legion Post 68 Baseball League, and his leisure time was often spent on the golf course or by the water, where he was an avid golfer and tournament bass fisherman.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 202,5 at Lakeland Funeral Home with military honors. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz at a later date.
