The General John Caldwell Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Captain William Princeton Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, are inviting the community to join in a special event on Friday to honor a pivotal moment in our nation’s history.
Carolyn Traum, on behalf of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is inviting all citizens of Princeton, Caldwell County, and the surrounding areas to participate in the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s historic midnight ride, which occurred on April 18-19, 1775.
She mentioned that grant funding is available to support the promotion of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States next year.
Traum also noted that every member of the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Sons of the American Revolution can trace their ancestry back to someone who fought in the American Revolution.
She shared how everyone can take part in commemorating Paul Revere’s ride from Friday night into Saturday morning.
She mentioned that the display of two lights serves as a symbolic gesture, reflecting the call to action from that historic night: “One if by land, two if by sea,” indicating that the British arrived by sea.
