The Caldwell County Band Boosters met Tuesday night at 6:00 in the band room at the high school.
The meeting was called to order by Booster President Mike Davis, who turned the meeting over to Band Director Mason Henry to discuss various activities planned for the band program.
Henry shared with the boosters about a fundraiser that is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd. The high school band room will be set up for a mattress sale display area. According to Henry, this could become a major fundraiser that might become an annual event. The company they are working with sells brand-name mattresses without a lot of overhead and returns a good amount of the funds to the local band program. They also have fundraisers planned at the local Dairy Queen for Thursdays, May 24th and May 29th. They are also hoping to have a car wash on Saturday, May 31st. Henry also announced that the Follies have been rescheduled to Saturday, May 17, and the Band Banquet will be held on May 3rd.

The main item of business for the meeting was the election of new Band Booster officers for the upcoming year. Davis reminded the group he had agreed to continue as president but has recently accepted a job out of town, and he and his family will be moving soon. After some discussion, the incoming officers for next year were elected and will be: President Zack Grandstaff, Vice-President Dawna Dalton, Secretary-Francie Westlie, and Treasurer David Lewis.
Newly elected President Granstaff was surprised to be elected and hadn’t even thought about becoming an officer.
