James Wesley Fudge, known affectionately as James, passed away on April 23, 2025, just hours shy of his 80th birthday. A proud veteran, James served his country in the US Army before entering the workforce and eventually retiring as a truck driver.
James had a passion for the simpler pleasures in life. He found solace in the tranquility of his garden, the companionship of horses, and the quiet moments of reflection. His love for reading about history knew no bounds, earning him the fond title of the “human history encyclopedia” among those who knew him best.
Survivors include his daughters, Rachel (Kelly) Hines of Calvert City, KY, and Katherine (Shaun) Dukes of Benton, KY; one son, Kelly Fudge of Calvert City, KY; two sisters, Shirley Abel of Georgia and Jeanette Ashley of Louisville, KY; and six grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Kelly Taylor Fudge and Clara Elizabeth Pollard; wife, Donna Ftitz Fudge; sister, Peggy Zanakis; and a half-brother.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Morgan’s Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
