Princeton Council Hears Positive Updates on Police, Public Works, and Utilities

The Princeton City Council meeting Monday night featured several positive updates, as leaders shared good news from the police department, public works, and utilities.

Princeton Police Chief Chris King shared that Aaron Revelett completed basic training at the police academy on Wednesday. In addition, he said the department is preparing for two more recent hires to start training at the police academy.

In response to questions about street closures from flood-damaged bridges during the Public Works Department update, Mayor Brock Thomas said FEMA has revisited and re-evaluated the sites.

Councilman and Electric Plant Board member Jim Joiner gave an update on the $1.7 million Grid Resilience Grant recently awarded to the local utility, saying it will boost reliability during severe weather and disasters. He noted the grant will be implemented in two phases.
