The Caldwell County Long Term Recovery Group is in need of community volunteers to be trained as disaster case managers to help your neighbors in long-term recovery from the December 10th tornado.
As previously reported, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Owensboro, which is overseeing case management for the Caldwell County group will give free training and provide supervision and guidance on case management to be part of a team and possibly serve on the Long Term Case Management Team in the county.
Stacey Menser with the Caldwell County Long Term Recovery Group says they need about 20 more volunteers to provide direct case management services to disaster survivors and their families through advocacy, information and referral, crisis intervention services, and recovery services.
The next online training for disaster case managers is on April 9th.
Alex Reid with Catholic Charities says the goal of the Caldwell Long Term Recovery Group is to identify all local households affected by the December tornado; learn their specific needs through case management, and with donations and volunteer efforts provide the resources they need to build their lives back in our community.
All local residents affected by the tornado are asked to complete a Caldwell County Tornado Relief Survey. Copies are available at the George Coon Public Library located at 114 South Harrison Street and online. For the link to the online survey click here.
