The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office introduced its newest member, K-9 Scooby, this week.
According to the sheriff’s office, Scooby is a four-year old labrador retriever that specializes in narcotics detection and scene discrimination and trailing.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office was able to obtain Scooby and all handler training through a generous private donation. Officials with the sheriff’s office said they are thankful to the individual that made this possible and to have Scooby as a member of the team.
Scooby’s handler is Deputy Jeremy Hillyard, a ten-year law enforcement veteran who has previous experience as a K-9 handler during his time at another agency.
