The third annual King’s Kitchen of Caldwell County food drive was a huge success Thursday.
Approximately 1,300 food items and around $2,000 in monetary donations were collected during the food drive that kicked off at Food Giant in Princeton Thursday morning and concluded at the WPKY studios.
According to Helping Hands coordinators Lee Anne Gilkey and Sheila Meeks, it’s not too late to donate food for the Summer Feeding Program for children 2-18 years of age. King’s Kitchen provides weekly food boxes for around 200 Caldwell County kids. Distribution begins on June 7th and will continue on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. through the months of June and July.
