The old Kuttawa beach day-use area has gone cashless for the summer.
Officials with Lake Barkley announced on social media a machine has been set up that will only accept credit card and debit card transactions. They indicate fees will be $2 for an individual or $5 per car for a day-use pass. Children under 16 are free.
According to lake officials, beachgoers will receive a ticket at the machine which has to be displayed on your dash. They say you can also buy a Corps of Engineers annual pass for $40 which is good for one year at a United States Army Corps of Engineers. For the annual passes, officials say you will have to exchange the receipt with the park attendant or at a Corps of Engineers office within 10 days.
The machine was in place for the Memorial Day holiday weekend and will be used through Labor Day, September 5th.
For questions or concerns, call the Lake Barkley Resource Managers office Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at (270) 362-4236.
