More details have been released about a wreck on Kentucky 902 West in Fredonia that injured two Kentucky National Guardsmen Sunday afternoon.
According to Chief Deputy Chris Noel with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the wreck shortly before 4:30 p.m. He says an investigation by Deputy Chad Hawkins determined 31-year old Aaron Corley of Lewisport was traveling on KY 902 West when he stated the rear tires of the National Guard water truck he was driving ran off the roadway, causing the load of water to shift. Corley reportedly overcorrected and the truck left the roadway and overturned onto the driver’s side in a ditch. Deputy Hawkins reported that Corley and his passenger, 20-year old Zachary Absher of Elizabethtown were transported from the scene by Caldwell County EMS to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for non-life threatening injuries.
Due to the wreck, KY 902 West was shut down for several hours and reopened to traffic around 8:40 Sunday night.
Deputy Hawkins was assisted on the scene by Caldwell County EMS, Stinnett Towing, Fredonia Fire, the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management.
