Caldwell Long-Term Recovery Group Needs Volunteers

The Caldwell County Long-Term Recovery Group is needing several volunteers to help unload supplies Saturday and to help with the Sunny Day Camp.
Stacey Menser with the local long-term recovery group says Christ in Action is bringing a 54-foot trailer loaded with furniture, appliances, and home goods for tornado victims on Saturday. The delivery will be made at the Operation Giving Trees warehouse on Cassidy Avenue in Fredonia. Menser says Christ in Action has requested they have 20 volunteers on hand Saturday to help unload the truck.
If you are available to help unload supplies on Saturday, please contact Jacki Greenfield at (270) 625-3082 or through email at operationgivingtrees@gmail.com.
In addition, Menser says volunteers are needed for the Sunny Day Camp for children affected by the tornado. The camp is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Kentucky 4-H Camp in Dawson Springs. She says 40 children have registered.
According to Dr. Jonathan Webster at the First Christian Church, they need volunteers for small group leaders willing to lead a group of 4-5 children through the stations for the day; and for crafts to help children with their projects during the lunch break.
Dr. Webster says the camp is a way to help those children affected by the December tornado.
