A Dawson Springs woman was flown to a hospital after a single-vehicle wreck in Caldwell County Thursday afternoon.
Sheriff Chris Noel reports deputies responded to the wreck shortly before 1:00 at the intersection of Marion Road and Pleasant Valley Road in which the driver was reported to be unresponsive with unknown injuries. He says an investigation by Deputy Steve Ladd determined 73-year old Lawana Wood was traveling south on Marion Road when for unknown reasons the vehicle ran off the roadway into a ditch.
Wood was reportedly flown by helicopter to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Deputy Ladd was assisted on the scene by Caldwell County Fire/Rescue, Fredonia Fire Department, Deputy Jim Soloman and Caldwell County EMS.
