Lyon County officials have announced three locations throughout the county that have opened their doors for those who may need a warm place to go Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.
The warming centers are as follows:
Eddyville Baptist Church located at 216 Jenkins Road in Eddyville is open now through noon Friday and longer if needed. You need to enter through the upper from the back parking lot by the gym. Officials say chairs and tables are set up in the gym.
Lamasco Baptist Church located at 12592 KY 93 South in Eddyville will open at noon Thursday through noon Friday and longer if needed in the Fellowship Building.
Kuttawa First Baptist Church located at 316 Walnut Drive in Kuttawa will open at noon Thursday and run through noon Friday and longer if needed. You need to enter the Fellowship Hall through the doors facing Osage Court.
In addition, county officials say Lee S. Jones Convention Center will be a warming center as well in the event of a major power outage/emergency.
Judge-Executive Jaime Green also says she has spoken to other locations that will open if need be at that time as well.
