Princeton Streets in Better Shape, Refreezing Possible Tonight

Princeton Public Works and Caldwell County Road Department crews have made some progress today with clearing snow off roadways, but motorists are urged to use caution tonight due to refreezing and black ice as the temperature drops.

Public Works Director David Sullenger says some of the streets are in better shape this afternoon than this morning but he cautions motorists the roads will refreeze as the temperature drops tonight.


click to download audioMeanwhile, Caldwell County Sheriff Chris Noel says they have only had one issue this afternoon near Lake Brashear involving a county dump truck.


click to download audioThe only other issue was this morning when Sheriff Noel reported a deputy had to help with traffic control for a vehicle slide-off but the driver was able to get back on the road without any other assistance.
Motorists will need to use caution on main roads and secondary roads in the county overnight due refreezing and black ice.
