Two Dawson Springs Women Arrested After Abandoned Vehicle Complaint


A call about an abandoned vehicle on the road in Lyon County led to the arrest of two Dawson Springs women Wednesday.
Sheriff Brent White responded to the complaint about an abandoned vehicle in the travel portion of the highway on KY 293, just north of Saratoga Methodist Church just before 9:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, Sheriff White says he located an unoccupied car parked in the roadway. After calling for a wrecker, he reportedly located 55-year old Crystal Dowd and 58-year old Kimberly Hinton on private property collecting creek rocks and wild ferns. He says the two women were taken into custody after an investigation revealed they did not have permission to be on the properties.
During a search of the vehicle, the sheriff says he found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Dowd and Hinton were each charged with two counts of third-degree criminal trespassing. Dowd was additionally charged with possession of meth and marijuana, improper parking on traveled portion of the highway, and failure to maintain insurance – 2nd offense. Both women were lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
