The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned eight felony indictments and one no-true bill from its February 10th session.
Two true bills were returned on 56-year old Monty Joe Lane, of Princeton, on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance over two grams of meth- firearm enhanced, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, subsequent offense – firearm enhanced. The second indictment charges Lane with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance over 2 grams of meth, subsequent offense.
Lane was arrested in December by Princeton Police after officers executed a search warrant as a result of an investigation at a residence near the 100 block of East Green Street. During the search, officers reportedly found and seized approximately three ounces of methamphetamine, twenty-three Neurontin pills, a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $498 in cash, and a loaded firearm.
32-year old Eric B. Allen, of Dawson Springs, was indicted on fourteen counts of second-degree forgery and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Allen was arrested in December by Princeton Police after an investigation into a report from an 86-year old woman that 14 checks were forged on her account totaling $4,550.
Princeton Police served Allen with an indictment warrant at the Caldwell County Jail around 6:20 Tuesday morning.
Police said the investigation also revealed that Dwayne Hale, of Princeton, had cashed nine of the checks at Food Giant. However, the grand jury returned a no true bill on Hale which means the grand jury did not find enough evidence to charge him with nine counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
The grand jury indicted 46-year old Michael R. Mason, of Princeton, on a single count of second-degree burglary.
Mason was arrested in December after a burglary investigation by Princeton Police reportedly revealed that he had entered a residence unlawfully and taken copper wiring.
31-year old Joshua E. Pavey, of Princeton, was indicted on charges of second-degree attempted burglary, second-degree burglary, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The charges lodged against Pavey are from January when Princeton Police responded to a complaint of an attempted breaking and entering at a residence near the 100 block of Linton Way. The resident reportedly told officers that someone tried to enter the residence through a window and the front door but was unsuccessful.
About 15 minutes later, police responded to another complaint of a burglary at a residence near the 800 block of West Locust Street where the resident reportedly told officers that he woke up and observed a male subject inside the home and the male ran away on foot.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison said the investigation led to a residence in the 100 block of Linton Way and revealed Pavey as the perpetrator.
Pavey was served an indictment warrant by Princeton Police at the Caldwell County Jail around 6:10 Tuesday morning.
A true bill was returned on 56-year old Lori L. Parham a/k/a Lori Mitchell, of Dawson Springs, on one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
On or about September 20, 2022, according to the indictment, Parham “knowingly and unlawfully possessed a handgun when had been convicted of a felony, and had not been granted a full pardon by the Governor of the President of the United States or been granted relief by the U.S. Secretary of Treasury pursuant to the Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 as amended.” No other information about the incident has been released.
34-year old Cody A. Dunlap, of Nebo, was indicted on a single count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
The indictment alleges that on or about November 1, 2022, Dunlap unlawfully possessed a controlled substance classified in Schedule II as a non-narcotic drug, which was methamphetamine.
The grand jury indicted 36-year old Savannah S. Driskill, of Paducah, on a single count of theft by deception under $10,000.
According to the indictment, Driskell obtained property by deception on or about June 10, 2022. No other information has been released about the incident.
