At Monday night’s meeting, Mayor Brock Thomas announced the date the City of Princeton’s spring trash pick-up day would begin for city residents.
Mayor Thomas, in the absence of Public Works Director David Sullenger, announced that spring trash pick-up day would commence on Monday, March 13th.
click to download audioResidents must not set items out before Friday, March 10th, at the request of Public Works. Additionally, the load must be limited to one standard pickup truck load per household and must be bagged or boxed, and placed curbside without blocking sidewalks or ditches. All items must be under 100 pounds, and items such as yard waste, air conditioners, batteries, tires, construction debris, and other EPA-related items are prohibited. Household trash should not be included with the spring pick-up pile, and any containers desired to be kept should not be left out with the trash.
Mayor Thomas also reported that the repair and renovation project for the swimming pool at the City-County Park was making good progress

In new business, the city council approved the only item on the agenda — the Hazard Mitigation Plan resolution which is renewed every 5 years with the Pennyrile Area Development District.

And Councilwoman Pat George, a member of the Princeton Water & Wastewater Commission, reported that the Cost of Study Survey should be completed in April and they will be accepting bids for the purchase of a new vacuum truck.
