Board Approves Change Orders for Elementary School Renovation Project


The Caldwell County school board approved several change orders pertaining to the Caldwell County Elementary School renovation project at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The board members unanimously voted to approve changes to the existing conditions of expansion joint covers, ceiling heights and electrical receptacles, plumbing chase, and ceiling revisions at the elementary school, as well as the installation of owner-supplied equipment, all amounting to a total of approximately $28,587.
The board approved a five-year extension of the district’s agreement with Muninet for WAN services, as explained by Superintendent Jeremy Roach, which is their internet service provider. He also noted that this would also allow them to move forward with seeking bids for additional internet service.

In other action, the board approved an increase of the Junior Beta Club fee from $10 to $25, which Superintendent Roach said was a request by the middle school.


click to download audioAnd the board unanimously declared technology items as surplus property to be disposed of and approved the tentative staffing allocations.

The board also heard a report from Director of Technology Matt Bell about the implementation of the best practices that meet the needs of data security within the district.

The next regularly scheduled school board meeting will be held Monday evening, March 20, at 6:00 at the Butler Alumni Auditorium at the Central Office.
