The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has announced another deputy has been hired.
Sheriff Brent White says Deputy Danny Collings previously served with the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office. It’s reported that Collings is a US Army Veteran who served out of Fort Campbell as a 15R Apache Attack Helicopter Crew Chief. He says Deputy Collings is a Kentucky Peace Officer Professional Standards certified officer and fills a patrol deputy vacancy due to a recent retirement.
He was sworn in last week by District Judge Brandon Knoth. According to Sheriff White, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office now has a total of 4 military veterans in the ranks of sworn staff.
