On Monday night, Fire Chief Brent Francis announced two new weather sirens have been installed – one on South Jefferson Street and the other at the Princeton Fire Department.
He says the new weather sirens will provide better coverage in these areas.
With the addition of the two new weather sirens, Francis noted the City of Princeton now has a total of five.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin applied for the grant offered by the American Red Cross to purchase the weather sirens for Princeton and Fredonia at Jones Avenue and KY 641. He also noted at a fiscal court meeting in February of 2022, the weather siren being replaced at the Princeton Fire Station was over 70 years old.
