Officials with Health First Community Health Center in Providence are happy to announce that Christy Tapp, MSN, APRN, FNP-C was selected by the Kentucky Office of Rural Health as an awardee for the Healthcare Worker Loan Relief Program of the Commonwealth.
According to Marketing & Outreach Director Jenna Jerger, the program is a new funding opportunity designed to increase the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals to practice in underserved areas of Kentucky. Applicants selected to participate in the completive program are required to work 24 to 40 hours a week, up to 4,160 hours over a two-three year period. She indicates participants receive tax-free student loan repayment in exchange for their service commitment.
Shelley Gobin, Health First CEO, expressed her excitement in a release for the opportunity to participate in this program and proudly sponsor Tapp, helping to increase access to care in Webster County. Jerger, Kim Beach, Director of Human Resources, and Sierra Williams, a representative of the Kentucky Office of Rural Health, held a contract signing to finalize the agreement.
