After having thousands of dollars worth of baseball and softball equipment stolen from a storage unit, the Dawson Springs Youth League will be accepting donations Saturday.
The league announced on social media they have received a tremendous outpouring of support from people who want to help with donating equipment and they will be set up at the Dawson Springs City Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1. Officials with the Dawson Springs Youth League have provided a short list of things they can use. Those items include ball pants, gloves, bats, cleats, softball fielders’ masks, any training equipment, baseballs and softballs, catchers’ gear, and batting helmets. Pertaining to the batting helmets, officials indicate they prefer those new in the event a used helmet may be damaged and ineffective.
As previously reported by Your News Edge, Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported that an investigation determined on the afternoon of March 12th that $14,000 worth of baseball equipment was stolen from King’s Storage Units on KY 295 North in Kuttawa. He said the equipment had been donated to Dawson Springs Youth League, Inc. following the December 2021 tornado that destroyed their facilities and equipment.
Additionally, the Dawson Springs Youth League has announced they are looking for any business that is interested in sponsoring a team with your company name on the jerseys or purchasing a banner with your company’s logo to hang on the fence at their fields in Princeton. The cost to sponsor a team is $150, a new banner is $150, and the cost to renew an existing banner subscription is $100.
If interested in sponsorship, or if you have any questions call Jordan Dalton at (270) 619-0079 or Tommy Larimore at (270) 604-1271.
